Bay window shutters, made to the angles of your bay.
Made to measure for bays across Bristol and Bath, Victorian or modern. A bay is where a careful measure matters most: each window gets its own shutter, joined at the corners to match the angles of your bay.
A typical Victorian three-sided bay is about £2150 fitted, in white, VAT included. Rough guide for yours: width × height in metres × £400, plus £100 for each section of the bay.

Every bay is different
Most Bristol and Bath bays fall into one of three shapes, and we can fit all three.
Splayed bays
The classic Victorian bay: a flat front window with two side windows set at an angle. Corner posts are made to your bay's angles so the panels meet neatly.
Square bays
A box-shaped bay with side windows at right angles. Simple to fit, and a natural home for full height or tier-on-tier shutters.
Curved bays
Also called bow windows, made of several flat sections in a gentle curve. Each section gets its own panels.
Bay window shutters, explained
Why bays need a careful measure
Older bays are rarely perfectly square or symmetrical. The angles can differ from one side to the other, and walls can lean slightly. We measure each window in the bay, and the angles between them, so the corner posts are made to fit your bay, not a standard one.
It's the part of the job where window-fitting experience counts most.
Victorian and Edwardian bays
A Victorian or Edwardian bay usually has three windows: a wide one in the middle and two narrower ones at an angle. In many, the windows have a top and bottom section, and tier-on-tier shutters can line up with that split so the whole bay looks balanced.
If the bay now has uPVC windows, we make sure the shutters clear the handles and let every window open. How we fit shutters to uPVC windows →
Radiators, window seats and boards
A lot of bays have a radiator underneath or a deep window board. Shutters can be made to stop at the sill, sit above a window seat, or run to the floor, depending on what's there and how you use the room. We'll talk through the options at the visit.
Upstairs bays and bedrooms
Shutters in an upstairs bay give a bedroom privacy and a lot of control over light. They darken a room well when closed, though they aren't fully blackout, as some light gets in round the edges. Bedroom shutters → · Living room shutters →
Bay windows: your questions
How much do bay window shutters cost?
A Victorian three-sided bay about 2.6 m wide and 1.8 m tall costs about £2150 in white, or £2650 in colour, fitted and with VAT included. Your exact price comes after the free home visit.
Can you fit shutters to a curved bay window?
Often, yes. A curved (bow) bay is made of several flat window sections, and each section can have its own shutter panels. Matt will look at how the sections meet and advise at the visit.
Which style is best for a bay window?
For a street-facing bay, many people choose tier-on-tier: close the bottom half for privacy and leave the top open for light. Full height gives the cleanest look, and café style suits a bay with a radiator or a deep window seat below.
Do the shutters in a bay all open separately?
Yes. Each window in the bay has its own panels, so you can open one side and keep the others closed.
