Living room shutters

Living room shutters: privacy, light and less glare.

The living room is where you notice light most: too much on the TV, too little on a grey day, and people looking in from the street. Shutters let you set it just right.

Why living rooms

What shutters do in a living room

  • Privacy from the street

Many living rooms face the street. Tilt the louvres down towards the room, or close the bottom tier, and people passing can't easily see in, while the room keeps its light.

  • Light where you want it

Angle the louvres to send the daylight up to the ceiling (tilted this way, people outside can see in a little more), or open the panels right back on a bright day.

  • Less glare on the screen

Tilting the louvres lets you cut the direct sun on a TV or laptop without making the room dark.

  • Sun off the sofa

Angled louvres keep direct sun off floors and furniture during the brightest part of the day.

  • The bay

The living room is often the room with the bay. Every window in it is measured on its own, and each corner is planned so the panels close neatly.

  • Room around the window

Sofas, radiators and lamps often sit near living-room windows. We plan the panels so they open freely.

Questions

Living room shutters: your questions

Which style suits a living room onto the street?

Tier-on-tier lets you close the bottom for privacy in the day and both tiers at night. Café style keeps the most daylight but leaves the top open after dark. Matt will suggest what suits each window at the visit.

Can I still see out with the shutters closed?

With the panels closed and the louvres open, yes, you look out between the louvres. Wider louvres give a clearer view out. Matt brings samples of the sizes to the visit.
