The home visit

Your free home visit, step by step.

The visit is free and there is no pressure. Matt, who measures every window himself, comes to you, looks at your windows, brings samples and answers your questions. Here is what happens.

5.0 on Google (opens in a new tab) · from the team behind Bristol Windows and Doors (opens in a new tab) (55 reviews)

  • Free home visit
  • Quote fixed for 30 days
  • 10-year guarantee on composite
  • No sales reps
  1. A quick chat first

Matt asks which rooms you are thinking of, how you use them, and what matters most to you: privacy, light, a darker bedroom, or just the look.

  2. A look at every window

How each window opens, where the handles and catches are, how deep the reveal is, and what is nearby: radiators, sockets, furniture and windowsills.

  3. A free window check

While he is there, Matt looks at the hinges, handles, seals and glass, and tells you honestly what he finds. Shutters work best on windows that work properly.

  4. Measuring

Every window is measured at several points (top, middle and bottom), because few openings are perfectly square.

  5. Samples and choices

You see the louvre sizes, the colours and the ways the louvres can tilt, against your own windows and in your own light. Matt suggests a style for each window and explains why.

  6. Your quote, by email

Soon after the visit, a written quote by email that sets out exactly what is included. It is fixed for 30 days, so you can take your time and talk it over.

Questions

The home visit: your questions

How long does the home visit take?

About 45 minutes for most homes.

Will you give me a price on the day?

We send your written quote by email soon after the visit. That way every size is checked properly before we put a price on it, and you have it in writing.

Who comes to the home visit?

Matt himself. There are no sales reps: we measure your windows and fit your shutters ourselves, as one small family team.

Do I need to be at home for the visit and for fitting?

Yes, someone needs to be in for both, because we measure and fit inside your home. At the end of fitting day we show you how everything works, so it helps if that's someone who'll be using them. If the property is empty, such as a rental between tenants, we can meet you there for the visit or collect the keys from you or your agent.
